Thanks to all the Swiss public for their magnificent welcome and the great reception of Luis Royo and Romulo Royo exhibition, as well as Laberinto Gris Art stand. Special thanks to the directors of the fair Kai Mader and Martin Schorno, for their courteous treatment and dedication.

The fair has been spectacular and of course an enriching experience meeting with the Swiss public and with the followers of our artists’ work. Thank you very much to all.

FANTASY BASEL MIT NEUEM BESUCHERREKORD

Die Fantasy Basel ist am Samstag mit einem Besucherrekord zu Ende gegangen. 62'000 Personen besuchten die Messe für Fantasy-Themen, Computer-Spiele und Comics.

Über 450 Stände auf 70’000 Quadratmetern boten an der Messe ihre Produkte an, wie die Organisatoren mitteilten. 350 Künstlerinnen und Künstler waren präsent. Eine Attraktion bildete der Eiserne Thron aus der Serie «Game of Thrones». Auch der Thron von Boba Fett sowie der Kommandothron aus «Stargate» und andere von Fans erstellte Filmkulissen aus «Star Wars» waren zu sehen.

Rund 200 Zeichnerinnen und Zeichner zeigten ihre Kunst in der Artist Alley, darunter Illustratoren wie Luis und Romulo Royo, John Howe («Der Herr der Ringe»), Disney-Zeichner Ulrich Schröder und Ingo Römling oder der Basler Batman-Zeichner Enrico Marini.

Im Space-Bereich schlugen das Swiss Space Museum, die Forschungsgruppe Planet und weitere Aussteller einen Bogen von Science-Fiction zu Raumfahrt, neuen Technologien und der Erforschung des Weltalls. Sci-Fi-Fans trafen auf Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler. Mit dem Astronomen Didier Queloz von der ETH Zürich war nebst weiteren Expertinnen und Experten ein Nobelpreisträger anzutreffen.

Spanish brothers Luis and Romulo Royo bring their art exhibition "Goddess of Power" to FANTASY BASEL - The Swiss Comic Con 2022! Luis Royo has drawn for fantasy and sci-fi novels by authors such as Robert E. Howard, Sara Douglas, Isaac Asimov or George R. R. Martin and has worked for internationally renowned publishers such as Tor Books, Berkley, Warner, Avon, Marvel and others. He has won various art awards with his works. Romulo's work has been exhibited in art galleries from Miami to Brussels and has been shown at leading international art fairs and exhibitions such as the 25th Alexandria Biennial. Together with his brother Luis Royo, he has produced the Malefic Time project, which combines apocalypse with mythology and combines different media such as graphic novels, music, sculptures and role-playing games. Meet Romulo and Luis on all three festival days, check out their exhibition "Goddess of Power", grab an original artwork and get it signed directly!
