Romulo Royo's "Flowers and Thorns" series explores the roots of human beings and their desire through mirage-like figures, created with technical skill and a rich texture achieved by mixing acrylic and oil. Key elements include medallions, coins and feathers that adorn the female protagonists, as well as tattoos that reflect dualities. The work evokes mystery and tension, raising the question of whether the protagonists are sweet or wicked, leaving the viewer to interpret with horns crowning the woman against an ethereal background.
