“After her mother's death, Vassilisa lived humiliated and despised by her new stepmother and her two daughters, until one day she went deep into the mysterious forest where they said Baba Yaga, the witch, lived.
The legend tells how her stepmother sent the girl to the witch's house for a birch torch, and how the old woman caught her. She made her carry out impossible jobs and had her prisioner, until one day the girl escaped, taking with her a skull of glowing eyes.”
