"I have been tracing my house for the past five-hundred years in order to locate myself and to pierce myself in this book like a dissected scarab. But the truth is I have not been able to see myself. When I am seated in my usual work space, I am not aware that I exist. Before me there are always unknown universes, when I get up and leave for other worlds, once in a while I'll look back at my chair to find it empty and expressionless. the few times I have believed that I have caught a glimpse of myself, it has turned out to be merely my shadow.
The chest of genres is always there before our eyes obscuring daily life. You can put just about anything in its drawers and compartments. It is a lever, a cane, a guide, a refuge..."
