"She returned to an image that had been repeated over the years: a singular woman who seemed completely her tormented interior, had met with her several times in the New York subway tunnels, I did not know if they were real encounters. She did not look real, she did not look imaginary, she wore blue cloths, her face was marked with signs of ritual scarification, and she painted his face with white skin, she had no hair or pupils in her eyes, she appeared where she least expected it. Sometimes she had the sensation of finding her face in each of the figures that were piled up in those tunnels, in her dead eyes it was written that her soul was transparent to her, she seemed to know her, to recognize her. Of another nature, she repeated an idea, an insistent idea, was it a threat, or perhaps ... a warning? His finger, this time, pointed towards a small being with her face dyed red.
