In Artemisa, Romulo Royo portrays the well-known goddess of the hunt and wild creatures, who seems to have crossed space-time planes into other dimensions and galaxies. Specifically, she has traveled to the galaxy of Gorom, through which she journeys in search of monsters from other worlds to hunt. Her hunting attributes, such as the bow, remain present, as does her firm stance—features that blend with a certain delicacy, sensuality, and new aesthetics inspired by Asian culture, seen in her tattoos, headdress, belt, and garments, all reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. We are witnessing the rebirth of the Greco-Roman goddess.
