In his fantasy worlds, the fusion of delicate and macabre elements in the same picture is a constant thread in Luis Royo’s work, immersing us in a different universe, where we intuitively realise that everything around us is ruled by a different set of rules. In this work, the elf or fairy resting on the dragon’s dead body, seeks our attention from her place of rest and this visual attraction is even reflected chromatically.
