Throughout his career he has been able to masterfully combine his personal style with the personal influences he has had throughout his life, and the fact is that cinema has marked many of the works of Romulo Royo, one of the greatest exponents of Fantasy Art, so linked to the comics of the 80s and 90s, illustration, video games and of course, cinema.

Many are the works of the artist in which we can see a clear Cyberpunk and post-apocalyptic style, influenced by films like Alien or Blade Runner that marked Romulo Royo.

The wounds of the past presents two figures in a hostile scenario, the sun is no longer bright, the paint drops resemble the acid rain caused by pollution in the future.

Our protagonists appear full of spikes, the artist's trademark, as well as dressed in the purest punk style. Only the female figure observes the spectator, with an enigmatic look, as if she knew what was going to happen next while the spectator passively observes what is happening.

“The body in crisis is increasingly present in our daily lives,” notes MoMA PS1 curator and associate director Peter Eleey, who headed up the “Greater New York”.
