"The Caves of Zugarramurdi, 1606.
It is spring and night is falling. Three hooded figures hurry down a narrow path leading to the mouth of a large cave. They walk quickly and glance worriedly over their shoulders every now and then.
They go into a corner of the large central chamber of the cave, where they light a small fire and pull back their hoods. All three are women and they look terrified. Three terrified young women who know that people are pursuing them.
-We can’t go home. At least not for the time being.
-Maybe never. They know we’re celebrating the fertile season. Our sisters are coming from far and wide, from many kingdoms. Too many for us to keep it hidden. I fear the worse”.
Malefic Time, Akelarre.
