SUPERHEROS
Laberinto Gris presents a selection of works that capture the visual pulse of “Pop Myths: Luis Royo.” Each image is a doorway into that territory where the epic and the pop converge, where heroes, heroines, and creatures born from contemporary imagination are reconfigured through Royo’s gaze. His line does not merely reproduce— it reinterprets. It extracts the essence of the myths that shape today’s global culture, from universes like Marvel and DC to broader iconographies of science fiction and fantasy, giving them new form, new intensity, and new symbolic depth.
Since 2017, he has worked together with Yamato and DC to create three-dimensional figures that have been released in the U.S. market with great success. Since then, he has occasionally taken on the interpretation of many other figures from the universe of pop heroines, offering his own vision and volumetric approach.
In this visual journey, the figures rise beyond their industrial origins and become archetypes that speak of power, fragility, desire, and defiance. These portraits take us back to the source of myth: the creator’s imagination. Together, these works form an atlas of characters destined to endure in the collective memory, and each invites you to pause, observe, and discover how the fantastic transforms into pop icon.
